Paddle a lazy, self-guided stretch with gear provided and shuttle to and from the river
Boat, life jacket, shuttle
Paddle one way downstream through the Delaware Water Gap on a lazy, self-guided trip. Take your time to drift, swim, fish, and picnic along the river.
All boats must be returned by 6 PM; no glass containers are allowed. Alcohol is permitted on the river but strongly discouraged; guests are limited to no more than 2 cans per person, per day. XL coolers are not allowed; personal-sized coolers only. Edge of the Woods reserves the right to inspect coolers of all guests using shuttle services or rental equipment. Anyone under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be allowed on the river. This is a family-friendly environment; drunk and disorderly conduct will not be tolerated. The Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area is under federal jurisdiction; marijuana remains federally illegal.
Non-holiday weekends and weekdays: Full refund with 24 hours notice. Full refund if operator cancels due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. No-shows are charged in full. Holiday weekends: No refunds unless the operator cancels due to severe thunderstorms or unsafe flooded river conditions.
All day trips depart from our Delaware Water Gap Location. 4, 6, and 10 mile will depart from this location: 129 Main St. Delaware Water Gap, PA 18327 This address across the street from our main office and Backpacker Shop.
This outfitter operates with impressive efficiency and a genuinely friendly crew that knows how to put first-timers at ease. Staff members go the extra mile in practical ways, like delivering boats directly to campsites for scout groups or patiently showing nervous 60-year-olds how to get in and out of a kayak. The operation handles everything from quick day trips to overnight camping adventures, and reviewers consistently praise how organized and professional the whole experience feels from check-in through pickup. They're also dog-friendly, which is a nice bonus for families traveling with pets. The parking situation can get tight on busy summer weekends, with some visitors mentioning cramped, undefined spaces that fill up fast. One detailed review noted confusion around timing expectations for longer routes, where optimistic guidance led to a rushed paddle that felt more like a race than a relaxing float. That said, most people find the pace flexible and enjoyable. The equipment is well-maintained, life jackets are good quality, and little touches like having a shop for forgotten sunscreen or selling ice cream post-trip show they're thinking about the details. Families with kids and seniors alike report feeling comfortable and safe throughout their adventures.
