Egmont Key State Park sits at the mouth of Tampa Bay, a sun-drenched barrier island reachable only by boat and layered with stories that stretch from Spanish explorers to Civil War sailors. This three-hour charter delivers you straight to one of Florida's most quietly extraordinary places, an undeveloped island where powdery white sand meets clear Gulf water and the ruins of historic Fort Dade peek through the palms. Because Egmont Key State Park has no bridges, no resorts, and no crowds, stepping off the boat feels like discovering a secret pocket of old Florida that most visitors never see.
The charter glides out across Tampa Bay toward Egmont Key State Park, with open water on every side and the chance to spot dolphins riding the bow wake or sea turtles surfacing nearby. Once anchored, you can wade into shallow turquoise water, hunt for sand dollars and seashells along the shoreline, or wander the brick paths that once carried soldiers between gun batteries. The lighthouse, standing since 1858, anchors the northern end of the island, while gopher tortoises shuffle through the undergrowth and seabirds wheel overhead. The contrast between the lively boat ride and the hushed, wild beach gives the trip a rhythm that feels both adventurous and restorative.
This experience is ideal for couples chasing a romantic afternoon, families with curious kids, history buffs, and anyone who would rather trade a packed tourist beach for solitude and natural beauty. Snorkelers love the clear water around the submerged ruins, photographers love the golden light on the lighthouse, and beachcombers love that the shells at Egmont Key State Park are some of the best on the Gulf Coast. Whether you are visiting Tampa Bay for the first time or returning to a favorite stretch of coast, a charter to Egmont Key State Park turns an afternoon on the water into a small, memorable adventure.
Captain Jared and First Mate Matt get glowing mentions throughout these reviews, and it's clear they know how to make a day on the water memorable. Guests consistently praise how the crew creates a fun, relaxed atmosphere while making everyone feel safe and comfortable. The photo packages seem to be a real highlight—multiple first-timers mention the GoPro videos and pictures being totally worth the investment, giving them lasting memories of the experience. Flight times are generous, and the overall parasailing experience gets enthusiastic thumbs up from nervous newbies and confident flyers alike. Beyond parasailing, they also run sunset cruises with small groups where guests have spotted dolphins and enjoyed breathtaking Gulf views. The friendly, welcoming vibe carries across both offerings. One visitor dealt with a weather cancellation and communication gap around rescheduling, which is worth noting, but it's an isolated incident among hundreds of happy customers. The overwhelming sentiment points to a crew that genuinely cares about showing people a great time on the water.
We had an absolute blast! Took our 14, 15, and 17-year-olds out on a gorgeous day. Extra bonus - we saw manatees, dolphins, and beautiful shorelines. The crew and the captain could not have been more enjoyable. Highly recommend!
