Kahe Point Beach Park
Kahe Point Beach Park sits along the sun-soaked leeward coast of Oahu, a quiet stretch of shoreline locals have nicknamed Electric Beach for the warm-water outflow from the power plant across the road. That gentle current of warm water is exactly what makes Kahe Point Beach Park one of the most rewarding shallow reef dive sites on the island, drawing in a steady parade of marine life that cruises right up to the reef. With easy shore access, calm conditions on most days, and a vibrant underwater world just minutes from the parking lot, Kahe Point Beach Park has earned its place as a favorite among divers who want maximum payoff without a long boat ride.
The dive itself unfolds like a slow drift through an aquarium. After a relaxed walk-in entry from the sandy cove at Kahe Point Beach Park, you follow the warm outflow channel out toward the reef, where visibility opens up and color floods in. Expect to share the water with green sea turtles gliding low over the coral, schools of yellow tang flashing in the sunlight, spotted eagle rays, and the occasional pod of spinner dolphins passing through the blue. The shallow depth means longer bottom times and softer light filtering across the reef, so every ledge, cleaning station, and sandy patch feels close enough to touch. Compared with deeper offshore dives, the experience at Kahe Point Beach Park is unhurried, intimate, and ideal for slow observation.
This dive is perfect for certified divers who love reef life over wreck depth, photographers chasing turtle and ray encounters, and travelers who want to log a memorable Hawaiian dive without committing a full day at sea. Beginners returning to the water after a break will appreciate the gentle entry, while seasoned divers will love how reliably Kahe Point Beach Park delivers wildlife. If your idea of a great Oahu morning is warm shallows, a healthy reef, and turtles arriving on cue, Kahe Point Beach Park is exactly where you want to be.
Devin, Adam, and their team have built something special here, with an impressive track record of making both nervous beginners and experienced divers feel completely at ease. The instructors get consistent praise for their patience, thorough safety briefings, and ability to handle issues on the fly without disrupting the dive. Reviewers highlight incredible marine life sightings at spots like Electric Beach, including sea turtles, eagle rays, octopi, and stingrays. Families seem particularly happy with how well the crew works with kids and multi-generational groups. One reviewer mentioned difficulty getting photos and videos after their dive despite being told they couldn't film themselves, which stands out as a disappointing experience. Otherwise, the feedback is overwhelmingly positive about the professionalism, communication, and genuine care the team shows. Multiple reviewers specifically note that instructors go above and beyond, from carrying heavy tanks to extending dive times and sharing footage afterward. The personal attention and skill in working with nervous first-timers really shines through in these reviews.
I had two great dives on the wreck & reef package. Devin was extremely professional and helpful. We saw several turtles and a few eels. I would certainly book with him again!
