There is ample street parking in downtown Pensacola. Free parking can be had at the city's Commendencia Street Lot on the south side of Main Street, two and a half blocks from your meeting point. Paid street parking is available all throughout downtown. Payment is at streetside kiosks or by app. It is $1 per hour and the first half hour is free. The Jefferson Street Parking Garage is one block from Palafox Place and is part of City Parking. Memorize your license plate for both app and kiosk. These have BLUE signs. RED signs are for private parking lots. These are more expensive than city parking but can be more convenient.
The guides here really make the experience. Terry, Duel, Lisa, Wesley, and Sophie get consistent shoutouts for being knowledgeable, entertaining, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Visitors rave about learning Pensacola's history in an engaging way that doesn't feel like a lecture. The hop-on-hop-off tour gets praise for covering downtown attractions with coupons included, while the ghost and graveyard tour appeals to those interested in the area's darker history. The food tour stands out as a highlight for many, with stops at carefully selected local spots and guides who provide excellent context about the cuisine and culture. There are a couple concerning reviews about safety and professionalism that deserve mention, though they seem to be isolated incidents. Most experiences are overwhelmingly positive. A few visitors expected to ride in an actual retro bus and got a van instead, which was a minor disappointment. The variety of tour options means there's something for different interests, whether you want history, food, or spooky stories. Overall, the enthusiastic guides and well-curated routes make this a solid choice for getting oriented in Pensacola.
