Ride the Sonoran Desert on a private, guided mountain bike tour
3 hours (4 hours with travel to and from trailhead)
2 or more people
Bike, helmet & gloves, snacks
Explore the Sonoran Desert on two wheels with a private guide and a route matched to your skill level. Ride a performance hardtail mountain bike, with an option to upgrade for more technical terrain.
Closed-toed shoes are mandatory. Full-suspension bike upgrades cost extra; confirm the amount with Greetwell before booking.
Cancel at least 48 hours before your scheduled tour time to avoid charges. Canceling within 48 hours will be charged in full. If the operator cancels due to weather, they will first try to reschedule; if that can’t be accommodated, they will issue a full refund.
Wear comfortable athletic clothing (leggings or shorts work well). Closed-toed shoes are mandatory; tennis or hiking shoes with thicker tread are recommended, and super-smooth soles are not recommended. If you have long hair, bring something to tie it back; sunglasses are also helpful. Tuck or roll up any loose pants on the right side so they don’t catch in the bike drivetrain.
You get a performance hardtail mountain bike with flat pedals, an MIPS helmet, full-finger gloves, water, snacks, and sunscreen (plus backpacks to use during the tour). Your ride is guided by a medically certified guide.
Yes. Full-suspension bike upgrades are available for an extra charge. Full suspension is recommended for high-intermediate to advanced routes; clarify the upgrade amount with Greetwell before booking.
Scottsdale, AZ
With a perfect rating across hundreds of reviews, this Scottsdale-based outdoor adventure company clearly knows how to deliver. The guides—Bob, Joe, Mike, Shawn, John, and Jeff among them—consistently get praised for being knowledgeable, safety-conscious, and genuinely fun to spend time with. They excel at reading their groups and adjusting difficulty levels on the fly, whether you're mountain biking through McDowell Sonoran Preserve or hiking Camelback Mountain at sunrise. Several reviewers mention feeling like they were adventuring with a friend rather than just a hired guide. Owner Laurel stands out for exceptional customer service, taking extensive time to walk clients through safety protocols and making sure bookings feel smooth from start to finish. The team goes beyond basic guiding with thoughtful touches like birthday cupcakes on summits, professional photos sent after trips, and resort pickups in well-appointed vehicles. They work with solo travelers, couples, corporate groups, and families with seniors, consistently tailoring experiences to match abilities. The genuine care for client safety is evident throughout, even in cases where weather forced trip cancellations.
Great morning ride with Shawn. He had everything ready at the trailhead for us to start right on time. We were able to get in near 16 miles of single track! Riding hard with quick stops to check out some of the sights and scenery. Totally beat trying to map my own ride and allowed me to just enjoy the flow and focus on carefree riding. The trails had great flow. These are serious riders who can tailor the ride to your needs. Was great having the early morning options to beat the crowds.
