Mister Gregory has created something genuinely special here: an intimate dinner experience that feels less like a restaurant and more like being welcomed into a Louisiana home. Guests consistently rave about the warmth of the evening, where Gregory shares stories about regional cuisine, the sourcing of ingredients, and the history behind each dish while live blues and roots musicians perform just feet away. The food itself is exceptional, with locally sourced shrimp as the centerpiece, preceded by standout appetizers like crab gratin, alligator sausage, and oyster dishes that rival fine dining spots around the city. The portions are generous, the atmosphere is relaxed and authentic, and the whole evening flows naturally without feeling rushed or awkward. It's BYOB, which keeps things casual and affordable (there are good bars nearby for pre-dinner drinks). Gregory accommodates dietary restrictions with advance notice and clearly puts tremendous care into every detail. Multiple visitors call it their favorite New Orleans experience, praising the combination of incredible food, engaging storytelling, and genuine hospitality. This is perfect for travelers seeking an authentic, off-the-beaten-path experience that captures the heart of Cajun culture and cuisine.
What a great experience! Gregory is awesome and he is an awesome cook! He explained his process and his cooking through the whole event. His oysters were to die for. The Shrimp Boil with sausage, bell peppers, onions and perfect seasons was incredible. Those shrimp were so good, I'm salivating just writing this! If we could have fit another Shrimp Boil in, we would have! You would be so lucky to also meet Stanly, our performer for the night. So much great character and audience involvement. And what a great singer! We loved Stanly so much, we went to his show a few night later at the Always Lounge and Cabaret. We can't wait to come back to see both Gregory and Stanly and munch the most delicious shrimp we've ever eaten!
