Wilderness Ridge Adventures delivers consistently excellent experiences with exceptionally well-cared-for animals and passionate guides. Brett, Marylou, Ellie, and Christy get mentioned repeatedly for their knowledge and ability to make guests feel comfortable, whether you're on horseback or walking with llamas. The horses are gentle, well-trained, and clearly receive top-notch care—from their confirmation to their equipment. The llama treks are equally impressive, with these quirky animals showing off their training and personalities on beautiful, easy hikes through stunning Capitol Reef scenery. The guides stand out for their expertise about the local area, rocks, and geology, turning rides into educational adventures without feeling like a classroom. Expect a relaxed pace at walking speed, which suits most visitors perfectly but might disappoint if you're hoping to trot or gallop. The longer rides even include packed lunches, so you can focus entirely on the experience. It's a genuinely welcoming operation where both the animals and customers clearly come first.
We had a wonderful time. Everyone was so friendly and knowledgeable. The horses and scenery were beautiful. It was the best horseback riding experience I've ever had and a great way to see a beautiful place.
